Know How to Maintain the Travertine Paver

Travertine pavers are great materials that you can use for various outdoor installations, and if you have finally decided to get them, then you must know how to get the best value for your money. No matter how you intend to use the pavers—be it for your pool deck or patio—you will want to keep in mind a few maintenance tips in order to ensure that they will still look stunning even after many years. These materials are able to withstand wind, rain, snow, and ice, but external factors might still affect them. In order to protect the appearance of your outdoor travertine pavers, here some easy maintenance tips that you can follow:

1. Be careful when handling heavy outdoor furniture.

Travertine pavers may chip if heavy furniture is dropped on them, so see to it that you move furnishings with great caution. It does not matter if they are made of plastic, wood, or metal. If the furniture is heavy, then you should be careful not to drop it.

2. Trim grass and weeds.

Watch out if you are using these pavers in your yard, and grass and weeds may grow through the cracks in between them. Use a stone edger or a weed-whacker to tame the grass and weeds. Moreover, you may want to consider using weed control products to make sure that these plants don’t get in the way of your beautiful travertine design.

3. Clean up the grime and mildew.

Over time, your travertine pavers may accumulate mildew, mold, and grime. These elements won’t affect the durability of your pavers, but of course, they are not great to look at and might make your pavers slippery. To keep your pavers clean, use high pressure power washer to remove grime buildups without damaging the pavers.
